In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like USS Arizona Memorial and National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Lanikai Beach and Kailua Beach Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Honolulu: Ko Olina Lagoons (in Kapolei) and Byodo-In Temple (in Kaneohe). Start off your visit on the 8th (Tue): relax in the rural setting at Kauai Coffee Company, then contemplate the long history of Old Kaloa Sugar Mill, then take in the dramatic scenery at Wailua Falls, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Kalapaki Beach.
