Galena is the largest city in and the county seat of Jo Daviess County, Illinois, with a population of 3,429 at the 2010 census. Start off your visit on the 18th (Tue): enjoy some diversion at Timber Lake Playhouse and then identify plant and animal life at Thomson Causeway Recreation Area. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Ulysses S. Grant Home, then stroll around Krape City Park, and then stroll through Jane Addams Recreation Trail.
