Indiana's capital and most populous city, Indianapolis is best known for its racecar events and impressive museums, and as the hometown of Kurt Vonnegut.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Zipline and Victory Field. Take a break from Indianapolis with a short trip to Anderson Orchard in Mooresville, about 32 minutes away. The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
Step off the beaten path and head to Korean War Veterans Memorial and The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
