Juneau

— 14 nights

America's Largest Capital Area

Juneau is an unusual state capital in many respects.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Sawyer Glacier and Eagle Beach. Kids will appreciate attractions like Tongass National Forest and Herbert Glacier. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Juneau: Nagoon Berry Trail (in Gustavus), Bartlett Cove (in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve) and Fishing Charters & Tours (in Hoonah). Spend the 9th (Thu) exploring nature at Pack Creek. There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Best Damn Charters, go deep underground at AJ Mine Gastineau Mill Tour, hike along Treadwell Historic Mine Trail, and look for all kinds of wild species at Steep Creek.

In July, plan for daily highs up to 63°F, and evening lows to 52°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
