Horse Capital of the World

Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Ark Encounter and Kentucky Horse Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lexington: Creation Museum (in Petersburg), Sun Valley Farm (in Versailles) and Danville (Wilderness Trail Distillery & The Great American Dollhouse Museum). There's still lots to do: try your luck at Keeneland, get a dose of the wild on Unique Horse Farm Tours, and experience rural life at Old Friends at Dream Chase Farm.
