Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. Step out of Phoenix with an excursion to Taliesin West in Scottsdale--about 40 minutes away. Get out of town with these interesting Arlington side-trips: Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (in Chantilly), National Museum of the Marine Corps (in Triangle) and George Washington's Mount Vernon (in Mount Vernon). Venture out of the city with trips to Luray (Luray Caverns & Stony Man Mountain Overlook), Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive & Old Rag Mountain Hike) and Copper Fox Distillery (in Sperryville).
