Pittsburgh

— 14 nights

City of Bridges

Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
Venture out of the city with trips to Fallingwater (in Mill Run), Latrobe (Saint Vincent College & Twin Lakes Park) and Flight 93 National Memorial (in Stoystown). On the 5th (Thu), spend a day ambling around Mill Creek Park. There's still lots to do: get a variety of perspectives on a duck tour, see the interesting displays at Bicycle Heaven, get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, and admire the masterpieces at The Andy Warhol Museum.

In August, plan for daily highs up to 80°F, and evening lows to 63°F.
