City of Bridges

Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
Change things up with these side-trips from Pittsburgh: Powdermill Nature Reserve (in Rector), Somerset (Somerset Historical Center & Kings Covered Bridge) and Flight 93 National Memorial (in Stoystown). Pack the 18th (Sat) with family-friendly diversions at Idlewild & SoakZone. And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Fallingwater, immerse yourself in nature at Point State Park, take a stroll through Mount Washington, and take in nature's colorful creations at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

Expect a daytime high around 82°F in July, and nighttime lows around 65°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
