Utah's capital and most populous city, Salt Lake City boasts a small-town feel, big-city amenities, and plenty of nature on its doorstep.
For shopping fun, head to Park City Sport on Main or Park City Main Street Historic District. Kids will enjoy Rocky Mountain Outfitters and Temple Square. Get out of town with these interesting Salt Lake City side-trips: Timpanogos Cave National Monument (in American Fork) and Deer Valley Resort (in Heber City). Next up on the itinerary: take in breathtaking views at Big Cottonwood Canyon, get a taste of the local shopping with Art at the Main Gallery, take in the spiritual surroundings of The Tabernacle, and ponder the world of politics at Utah State Capitol.
