Located less than an hour's drive north of San Francisco, Santa Rosa serves as a convenient hub for travelers on their way to the world-famous Napa Valley wine country.
Get out of town with these interesting Santa Rosa side-trips: St. Helena (VGS Chateau Potelle & V. Sattui Winery), Calistoga (Sterling Vineyards & Castello di Amorosa) and Robert Mondavi Winery (in Oakville). Dedicate the 31st (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Charles M. Schulz Museum, look for all kinds of wild species at Safari West, learn about winemaking at St. Francis Winery and Vineyards, and stop by Oxbow Public Market.
