Deadwood is a city in South Dakota, United States, and the county seat of Lawrence County. Kick off your visit on the 16th (Mon): take a memorable drive along Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: get engrossed in the history at D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery, examine the collection at Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame, then examine the collection at Tatanka: Story of the Bison, then take an in-depth tour of Adams House, and finally pause for some photo ops at Mt Roosevelt Monument.

Although Badlands National Park's name might not be the most inviting, its landscape of pinnacles, eroded buttes, spires, and an expansive, pristine mixed-grass prairie remain enticing.
Step out of the city life by going to Door Trail and Notch Trail. You'll explore and learn at Minuteman Missile National Historic Site and Prairie Homestead Historic Site. Step out of Badlands National Park with an excursion to South Dakota's Original 1880 Town in Murdo--about 1h 25 min away. There's more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Roberts Prairie Dog Town and take in the dramatic natural features at Badlands Wall.
