Custer

Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
Get out of town with these interesting Custer side-trips: Mammoth Site of Hot Springs (in Hot Springs), Presidential Trail (in Keystone) and Wind Cave National Park (in Wind Cave National Park). There's still lots to do: admire the majestic nature at Custer State Park, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Black Elk Peak, admire all the interesting features of Wildlife Loop Road, and appreciate the history behind Crazy Horse Memorial.

Spend the 19th (Wed) exploring nature at Badlands National Park.
