Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and The Johnny Cash Museum & Cafe are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Nashville with an excursion to Winstead Hill Park in Franklin--about 42 minutes away. There's much more to do: see a show at Grand Ole Opry, see the interesting displays at RCA Studio B, admire the landmark architecture of Fontanel Mansion, and explore the world behind art at The Parthenon.

The largest city on the Mississippi River, Memphis bills itself as both the "Birthplace of Rock" and "Home of the Blues." With such a rich musical heritage, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Elvis Presley chose to live in Memphis during his later years.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Wed): explore the world behind art at Belz Museum of Asian & Judaic Art, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Beale Street, then appreciate the history behind National Civil Rights Museum - Lorraine Motel, and finally get engrossed in the history at Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum.
