Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
On the 11th (Fri), stop by Granite Sports, pause for some photo ops at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, thencontemplate the waterfront views at Sylvan Lake, and finally explore the striking landscape at Needles Eye Tunnel. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take a memorable drive along Needles Highway, thencruise along Iron Mountain Road, and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Black Elk Peak.
