You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Reno to Santa Fe due to the time zone difference. Traveling by car from Santa Fe to Durango takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or do a combination of bus and train. Expect a bit cooler evenings in Durango when traveling from Santa Fe in August, with lows around 52°F.
