Billings is the largest city in the state of Montana, and is the principal city of the Billings Metropolitan Area with a population of 166,855.Billings is located in the south-eastern portion of the state and is the seat of Yellowstone County, which had a 2015 population of 157,048. Kick off your visit on the 18th (Sun): learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at ZooMontana, trot along with a tour on horseback, and then immerse yourself in nature at Pictograph Cave State Park.

Jackson Hole

The Jackson Hole valley is approximately 97 km (60 mi) long and 24 km (15 mi) wide, encompassing the town of Jackson, Teton Village, and the northern section of Grand Teton National Park.

The gateway to Utah's popular canyon country, Moab sits engulfed in the middle of desert wilderness.

Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Mon) early enough to drive to Telluride.

Telluride

The town of Telluride is the county seat and most populous town of San Miguel County in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Colorado. Traveling from Moab in July, you will find days in Telluride are cooler (74°F), and nights are slightly colder (52°F). Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Durango.

Durango

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.

Drive from Telluride to Durango in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and shuttle. Expect somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Telluride in July: highs in Durango hover around 86°F, while lows dip to 54°F. On the 28th (Wed), you're off to home.
