Amarillo — 1 night

Known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas," Amarillo was once a series of ranches.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Fri): wander the wide-open spaces of Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West, wander the wide-open spaces of Figure 3 Ranch, and then make a trip to The Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch State Historical Site. Keep things going the next day: take an in-depth tour of Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, then see the interesting displays at Jack Sisemore Traveland RV Museum, then make a trip to Cadillac Ranch, and finally look for gifts at Cavender's Boot City.
