Gateway to the Black Hills

South Dakota's second-largest city, Rapid City has for many years served as a gateway to the West.
On the 17th (Sat), look for all kinds of wild species at Bear Country USA, then explore the striking landscape of Mount Rushmore National Memorial, then explore the activities along Sylvan Lake, and finally take an unforgettable tour with Black Hills Helicopters. The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
On the 19th (Mon), appreciate the views at Logan Pass, then admire the sheer force of Virginia Falls, then take some stellar pictures from Jackson Glacier Overlook, and finally cruise along Going-to-the-Sun Road. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: stroll through Avalanche Lake and then explore the activities along Lake McDonald.
