When you arrive in tiny San Simeon, which lies halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, you can see why William Randolph Hearst chose this coastal locale for his famous hilltop castle.
On the 15th (Mon), learn about winemaking at Peachy Canyon Winery Tasting Room, kick back and relax at Piedras Blancas, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of New Camaldoli Hermitage. On the next day, identify plant and animal life at Sweet Springs Nature Preserve, learn about winemaking at Rotta Winery, and then do a tasting at AronHill Vineyards.
