Guerneville — 3 nights

Guerneville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, California, United States. Kick off your visit on the 26th (Sat): kick back and relax at Johnson's Beach, then immerse yourself in nature at Armstrong Redwood State Reserve, then do a tasting at Moshin Vineyards, and finally kick back and relax at Sonoma Coast State Beach. Here are some ideas for day two: look for gifts at Guerneville 5 & 10, immerse yourself in nature at Fort Ross State Historic Park, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sea Ranch Chapel.

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
On the 29th (Tue), stop by Powell's City of Books, take in nature's colorful creations at Lan Su Chinese Garden, then see the interesting displays at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, then admire the natural beauty at International Rose Test Garden, and finally admire nature's wide array of creatures at Oregon Zoo.

Getting from Guerneville to Portland by car takes about 10.5 hours. When traveling from Guerneville in June, plan for a bit cooler days in Portland, with highs around 77°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 56°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Tue) early enough to drive to Tacoma.

Tacoma — 6 nights

Tacoma is a mid-sized urban port city in and the county seat of Pierce County, Washington, United States. Get out of town with these interesting Tacoma side-trips: Olympic National Park (in Olympic National Park), Olympia (Hands On Children's Museum & Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge) and B&B Family Farm (in Sequim). Spend the 4th (Sun) wandering through the wild on Discover Nature. And it doesn't end there: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Rainier, observe the fascinating underwater world at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, see the interesting displays at Washington State History Museum, and get to know the resident critters at Point Defiance Park.

While traveling from Portland, expect little chillier days and about the same nights in Tacoma, ranging from highs of 72°F to lows of 53°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Cannon Beach.
