As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Your inner history buff will appreciate The Alamo and Mission Concepcion. Take a break from the city and head to The San Antonio River Walk and San Antonio Zoo. There's still lots to do: admire the architecture and history at Mission San Jose, explore the world behind art at McNay Art Museum, get to know the fascinating history of King William Historic District, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Hemisfair Park.

Situated where the Rio Grande River takes a big southerly dip in West Texas, Big Bend National Park covers a massive expanse of desert, woodlands, and grasslands full of rivers, limestone canyons, and high mountains. Nearly 2,000 species of plant and animal life call this place home.
On the 18th (Thu), make a trip to Abandoned Contrabando Movie Set, then mingle with the ghosts of the past at Terlingua, and then stroll through The Window Trail. Keep things going the next day: trek along Lost Mine Trail and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Chisos Mountains.

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
Space Center Houston and Glenwood Cemetery are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Museum-lovers will appreciate Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. Venture out of the city with trips to Nana's Attic (in League City) and San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site (in La Porte). There's much more to do: meet the residents at Houston Zoo, make a trip to Water Wall, and test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms.
