Located just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., the county of Arlington blends big city and sprawling suburban environments.
Start off your visit on the 13th (Mon): look for all kinds of wild species at Hidden Oaks Nature Center, admire the landmark architecture of George Washington's Mount Vernon, and then wander the streets of Old Town. Here are some ideas for day two: get to know the fascinating history of The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Arlington National Cemetery, then don't miss a visit to John F.
