The peaks of Grand Teton National Park aren't the highest in the world, but they sit atop what might be nature's archetypes for mountains.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Leigh Lake and String Lake. Step out of the city life by going to Cascade Canyon and Grand Teton. There's still lots to do: take a memorable drive along 42-mile Scenic Loop Drive and trek along Menor's Ferry Historical Trail.

Salt Lake City to Grand Teton National Park is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and car; or drive. Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Salt Lake City in April, with highs in Grand Teton National Park at 48°F and lows at 26°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sun) so you can travel to Sundance.

Sundance is a town in and the county seat of Crook County, Wyoming, United States. On the 13th (Mon), hike along Deadwood Trailhead George S. Mickelson Trail, appreciate the history behind Mt Roosevelt Monument, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Roughlock Falls State Nature Area. On the next day, look for all kinds of wild species at McNenny State Fish Hatchery, steep yourself in history at Adams House, then explore and take pictures at Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, and finally steep yourself in history at Vore Buffalo Jump.

Traveling from Grand Teton National Park in April, things will get a bit warmer in Sundance: highs are around 55°F and lows about 32°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Devils Tower.
