Traveling by car from Anchorage to Seward takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Anchorage in December, with highs in Seward at 1°C and lows at -4°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Thu) to allow time to drive to Homer.

Start off your visit on the 22nd (Fri): stop by Jars Of Clay Pottery, learn more about the world around you at Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Homer Spit, then admire the masterpieces at Bunnell Street Arts Center, and finally see the interesting displays at Pratt Museum. Getting from Seward to Homer by car takes about 4 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and ferry. Expect a daytime high around 1°C in December, and nighttime lows around -4°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sat) early enough to catch the flight to Palmer.

On the 24th (Sun), take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback and then admire the majestic nature at Independence Mine State Historical Park. Traveling from Palmer in December, expect nights in Fairbanks to be colder, around -26°C, while days are slightly colder, around -16°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 28th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
