With its strip malls and fast-food restaurants, Fairbanks appears a bit functional on first glance.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Tue): get a new perspective on nature at University of Alaska Museum of the North and then find something for the whole family at Pioneer Park. Keep things going the next day: admire all the interesting features of University of Alaska Fairbanks, look for all kinds of wild species at Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge, then examine the collection at Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum, and finally see the interesting displays at Fairbanks Ice Museum.
