Get some cultural insight at The Strip and Madame Tussauds - Las Vegas. Step out of the city life by going to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Valley of Fire State Park. There's still lots to do: admire the local landmark of Bellagio Fountains, try your luck at Bellagio Hotel and Casino, get engrossed in the history at Titanic, and have fun at Paris Las Vegas.

Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Las Vegas in July: high temperatures in Yosemite National Park hover around 83°F and lows are around 46°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) early enough to go by car to San Simeon.

When you arrive in tiny San Simeon, which lies halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, you can see why William Randolph Hearst chose this coastal locale for his famous hilltop castle.
On the 15th (Mon), kick back and relax at Moonstone Beach, then take in the exciting artwork at artifacts gallery, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Elephant Seal Rookery. On the 16th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the dramatic natural features at Morro Rock, then learn about winemaking at Hearst Ranch Winery, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Piedras Blancas.

You can drive from Yosemite National Park to San Simeon in 5.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of taxi and bus; or do a combination of taxi, bus, and ferry. Traveling from Yosemite National Park in July, things will get a bit warmer in San Simeon: highs are around 94°F and lows about 56°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) so you can drive to Carmel.

Take a break from the city and head to Point Lobos and Dolphin & Whale Watching. You'll get in some beach time at Carmel River State Beach and Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park.
