Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
On the 9th (Sun), shop like a local with The Strip. Here are some ideas for day two: examine the collection at The Neon Museum, see the interesting displays at The Mob Museum, try to win big at Bellagio Hotel and Casino, then take in nature's colorful creations at Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, and finally don't miss a visit to Bellagio Fountains.

Fresno to Las Vegas is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Fresno in June; daily highs in Las Vegas reach 103°F and lows reach 77°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Mon) so you can travel to New Orleans.

Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
On the 11th (Tue), learn about all things military at The National WWII Museum, appreciate the extensive heritage of Garden District, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Joseph Church and Gardens. Keep things going the next day: get to know the fascinating history of Jackson Square, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Louis Cathedral, then examine the collection at Cabildo, and finally make a trip to French Quarter.
