Galena is the largest city in and the county seat of Jo Daviess County, Illinois, with a population of 3,429 at the 2010 census. Get outdoors at Oakdale Nature Preserve and Horseshoe Mound. Get a sense of the local culture at Ulysses S. Grant Home and The Old Blacksmith Shop. Step out of Galena to go to Grand Detour and see John Deere Historic Site, which is approximately 1h 30 min away. There's lots more to do: brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Blaum Bros.
