Florida’s mecca of fun in the sun, the lively tropical metropolis of Miami is one of the world’s top vacation spots.
Head to Lincoln Road and Bayside Marketplacefor some retail therapy. Visiting South Beach and Shark Valley Visitor Center will get you outdoors. Get out of town with these interesting Miami side-trips: Hollywood Beach (in Hollywood), Fort Lauderdale Beach (in Fort Lauderdale) and Key Largo (Scuba & Snorkeling & John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, look for all kinds of wild species at Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center, admire the masterpieces at Wynwood Walls, and stroll through Anhinga Trail.

Theme Park Capital of the World

For most people, any mention of Orlando immediately conjures up images of sprawling theme parks filled with characters plucked right out of popular animated movies.
On the 3rd (Sun), get some fabulous bargains at Orlando International Premium Outlets, admire the masterpieces at Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, then get a taste of the local shopping with Timothy's Gallery, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at St James Roman Catholic Cathedral. Keep things going the next day: ponder the world of politics at City Hall, browse the different shops at The Mall at Millenia, and then browse the different shops at Disney Springs.

Getting from Miami to Orlando by flight takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Miami in May, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit cooler in Orlando, with lows of 24°C. On the 5th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
