The City of Lakes

Do your shopping at Minnesota's Largest Candy Store and Mall of America. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Basilica of St. Mary and The Museum of Russian Art. Step out of Minneapolis to go to Northfield and see Northfield Historical Society Museum and Historic Bank Site, which is approximately 48 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Minneapolis Institute of Art, admire the sheer force of Minnehaha Park, browse the different shops at Rybicki Cheese, and ponder the world of politics at Minnesota State Capitol.

Your inner history buff will appreciate Forest History Center and Lakewalk. The St. Louis County Depot and Tom's Historic Logging Camp will appeal to museum buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Duluth: Minnesota Discovery Center (in Chisholm) and Two Harbors (Two Harbors Lighthouse & Split Rock Lighthouse).
