Nantucket is an island about 30mi by ferry south from Cape Cod, in the American state of Massachusetts. Start off your visit on the 5th (Sun): kick back and relax at Cisco Beach, examine the collection at Egan Maritime's Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum, and then visit a coastal fixture at Great Point Light. Here are some ideas for day two: see the interesting displays at Whaling Museum, then contemplate the long history of Greater Light, and then kick back and relax at Jetties Beach.

Family-friendly places like Cape Cod National Seashore and Nauset Beach will thrill your kids. Change things up with a short trip to Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans (about 46 minutes away).
