Newark — 15 nights

Newark is the most populous city in the U.S. state of New Jersey and the seat of Essex County. Kids will appreciate attractions like Bronx Zoo and Gateway National Recreation. Discover out-of-the-way places like Turtle Back Zoo and Jenkinson's Aquarium. Change things up with these side-trips from Newark: Belmar Beach (in Belmar), Bergen County Zoological Park (in Paramus) and Duke Farms (in Hillsborough). Spend the 8th (Sat) exploring nature at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. There's much more to do: identify plant and animal life at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, make a splash at SplashDown Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Ship Bottom Beach, and pause for some serene contemplation at The Great Auditorium.

For maps, other places to visit, traveler tips, and other tourist information, read Newark online route planner.

If you are flying in from United Arab Emirates, the closest major aiports are Newark Liberty International Airport, La Guardia Airport and John F Kennedy International Airport. In July, daily temperatures in Newark can reach 36°C, while at night they dip to 24°C.
