Get outdoors at Alki Beach and Mercer Slough Nature Park. Museum-lovers will get to explore Chihuly Garden and Glass and Seattle Art Museum. Step out of Seattle with an excursion to Duthie Hill Park in Issaquah--about 52 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: take a stroll through Pike Place Market, explore the wide array of goods at Nordstrom, view the masterpieces at Glasshouse Studio, and take in panoramic vistas at Space Needle.

Getting from San Francisco to Seattle by flight takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of train and flight; or drive. In June, plan for daily highs up to 27°C, and evening lows to 16°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Wed) so you can travel to Portland.

A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Sokol Blosser Winery and Columbia River Highway. Relax by the water at Haystack Rock and Cannon Beach. Take a break from Portland with a short trip to Astoria Column in Astoria, about 2 hours away. There's lots more to do: explore the activities along Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, stroll through Eagle Creek Trail Park, look for all kinds of wild species at Hyland Forest Park, and delve into the lush surroundings at Camassia Natural Area.
