Start off your visit on the 30th (Mon): look for all kinds of wild species at Roberts Prairie Dog Town, admire all the interesting features of Yellow Mounds Overlook, then admire all the interesting features of Loop Road, and finally explore the striking landscape at Big Badlands Overlook. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 1st (Tue): appreciate the extensive heritage of Prairie Homestead, trek along Door Trail, and then hike along Notch Trail.

Escape the urban bustle at Black Hills Parrot Welfare & Education Center and Roughlock Falls State Nature Area. When in Deadwood, make a side trip to see Roughlock Falls Nature Area in Savoy, approximately 38 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Tatanka: Story of the Bison, take an in-depth tour of Days of '76 Museum, get your bearings at Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, and cruise along Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway.

While traveling from Wall, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Deadwood, ranging from highs of 59°F to lows of 38°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sat) early enough to drive to Custer.

Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Angostura Recreation Area and Black Hills. Get outdoors at Little Devil's Tower Trail and Horseback Riding Tours. Get out of town with these interesting Custer side-trips: Insideout (in Hill City) and Wind Cave National Park (in Wind Cave National Park). There's much more to do: hike along Sunday Gulch Trail, do a tasting at Prairie Berry Winery, tour the pleasant surroundings at Cathedral Spires Hiking Trail, and explore the activities along Sylvan Lake.
