Shop till you drop at The Strip and The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. Step out of Las Vegas with an excursion to Hoover Dam in Boulder City--about 50 minutes away. There's much more to do: take in a show at Bellagio Fountains, stop by Barneys New York, explore the stunning scenery at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, and buy something for everyone on your list at Fashion Show Mall.

Fly from San Francisco to Las Vegas in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of subway and flight; or drive. In July, Las Vegas is much hotter than San Francisco - with highs of 47°C and lows of 32°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) so you can go by car to Death Valley National Park.

In July, Los Angeles is a bit cooler than Death Valley National Park - with highs of 33°C and lows of 22°C.
