Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Thu): steep yourself in history at Dinosaur Ridge and then relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour. On the 7th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the exciting artwork at Denver Botanic Gardens and then ski along the peaceful trails at Cherry Creek State Park.

You'll discover tucked-away gems like Rendezvous Mountain and Mormon Row Historic District. Get in touch with nature at Cascade Canyon Trail and Teton Raptor Center. Step out of Jackson Hole to go to Moose and see Chapel of the Transfiguration, which is approximately 40 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: make a trip to Oxbow Bend, view the masterpieces at Mangelsen Images of Nature, and stroll through Taggart Lake.
