Divided into neighborhoods with distinct characters and cultural heritages, San Diego sits just north of the Mexican border and offers visitors a blend of tourist attractions, including a lively nightlife, diverse cuisine, and a thriving musical scene.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at La Jolla Shores Park and Pacific Beach. Get outdoors at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. When in San Diego, make a side trip to see South Carlsbad State Beach in Carlsbad, approximately 36 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: appreciate the extensive heritage of Point Loma, explore the different monuments and memorials at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery, pause for some photo ops at Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial, and take in nature's colorful creations at Botanical Building and Lily Pond.

You can drive from Los Angeles to San Diego in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or fly. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Los Angeles in September: highs in San Diego hover around 30°C, while lows dip to 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Fri) so you can travel to Las Vegas.

Visiting Valley of Fire State Park and River Rafting & Tubing will get you outdoors. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Coca-Cola Store Las Vegas and Downtown Container Park. There's lots more to do: take a stroll through The LINQ Promenade, take a memorable tour with Tours, examine the collection at Counts Kustoms, and enjoy some diversion at Graceland Wedding Chapel.

Traveling by flight from San Diego to Las Vegas takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Step off the beaten path and head to Muir Woods National Monument and Marin Headlands. Shop till you drop at Mumm Napa and Onedome. You'll find plenty of places to visit near San Francisco: Oxbow Public Market (in Napa), VJB Cellars (in Kenwood) and Pride Mountain Vineyards (in St. Helena). There's lots more to do: take in the awesome beauty at Twin Peaks, examine the collection at Charles M.
