Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Get a sense of the local culture at Pahrump Valley Winery and Nelson Ghost Town. Step out of the city life by going to River Rafting & Tubing and Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Step out of Las Vegas with an excursion to Mt. Charleston Scenic Byway in Mount Charleston--about 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Nostalgia Street Rods, have fun at The Little Vegas Chapel, and identify plant and animal life at Clark County Wetlands Park.
