The city of Dahlonega is the county seat of Lumpkin County, Georgia, United States. Step out of the city life by going to Cades Cove and Helton Creek Falls. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Raven Cliff Falls and Minnehaha Falls. Change things up with these side-trips from Dahlonega: Brasstown Falls (in Long Creek), Bavarian Mountain Miniature Golf (in Helen) and Highlands (Sunset Rock and Ravenel Park & Bust Your Butt Falls). Founded in 1835, the city of Aiken was named after William Aiken, the president of the South Carolina Railroad. Get in touch with nature at Ninety Six National Historic Site and Virginia Acres Park. Discover out-of-the-way places like Hopelands Gardens and Hitchcock Woods. There's much more to do: immerse yourself in nature at Aiken State Park, steep yourself in history at Aiken County Historical Museum, make a trip to Aiken Center for the Arts, and look for gifts at Cyndi's Sweet Shoppe.

Augusta–Richmond County is a consolidated city-county on the central eastern border of the U.S. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Augusta Canal Discovery Center and Augusta Museum of History. Escape the urban bustle at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park and West Columbia Riverwalk.
