Glacier is a census-designated place in Whatcom County, Washington, United States. Visiting Lake Ann Trail and Heliotrope Ridge Trail will get you outdoors. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Skyline Divide and Mt Baker Ski Area. Get out of town with these interesting Glacier side-trips: Concrete (Cascade Trail & Rasar State Park) and Artist Point (in Deming). And it doesn't end there: contemplate the waterfront views at Picture Lake, cruise along Mount Baker Scenic Byway, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Mt Baker.

Drive from Seattle to Glacier in 2.5 hours. When traveling from Seattle in July, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Glacier: temperatures range from 74°F by day to 56°F at night. You will have some time to spend on the 3rd (Tue) before leaving for Mazama.

Mazama is an unincorporated community in Okanogan County (population 200) located in the Methow Valley of Washington, on the east slopes of the North Cascades and North Cascades National Park. Step off the beaten path and head to Ross Lake National Recreation Area and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. Escape the urban bustle at Maple Pass Loop and Colonial Creek Campground. Get out of town with these interesting Mazama side-trips: Winthrop (Falls Creek Falls Trail Head & Winthrop National Fish Hatchery) and North Cascades National Park (Blue Lake Trai & Gorge Creek Falls). There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Cedar Creek Falls.

You can drive from Glacier to Mazama in 3.5 hours. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Glacier in August: highs in Mazama hover around 90°F, while lows dip to 58°F. You'll have a few hours on the 6th (Fri) to wrap things up before traveling to Olympic National Park.

Step out of the city life by going to Mount Rainier and Nisqually Vista Loop. Step off the beaten path and head to Mount St. Helens and Mt. Fremont Lookout Trail. Step out of Mount Rainier National Park with an excursion to Ashford Creek Pottery in Ashford--about 52 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: trek along Skyline Trail, tour the pleasant surroundings at Naches Peak Loop Trail, get outside with Reflection Lakes, and take in the dramatic scenery at Christine Falls Viewpoint.
