Ouray is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous city of Ouray County, Colorado, United States. Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): trek along Perimeter Trail, take in the dramatic scenery at Bear Creek Falls, then contemplate the long history of Yankee Girl Mine, then see a world frozen in time at Animas Forks, and finally get engrossed in the history at Ridgway Visitors Center and Railroad Museum. Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
On the 6th (Mon), explore and take pictures at Million Dollar Highway and then hit the slopes at Purgatory Resort. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: hit the slopes at Durango Snowbike Experience and then delve into the lush surroundings at San Juan National Forest.
