More than just a convenient resting place for travelers on their way to the national park encompassing the Front Range of the Rockies, Estes Park is a popular place to visit in its own right.
Escape the urban bustle at Photography Tours and Emerald Lake Trail. Venture out of the city with trips to Fort Collins (New Belgium Brewing & River Rafting & Tubing), The Beach at Grand Lake (in Grand Lake) and Trail Ridge Road (in Rocky Mountain National Park). The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is usually a -2 hour difference. Traveling from New York City in July, expect a bit cooler with lows of 59°F in Estes Park. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Denver.

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Step out of the city life by going to River Rafting & Tubing and Summit Lake Park. Change things up with a short trip to Flatirons in Boulder (about 34 minutes away). There's still lots to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Evans, sample the fine beverages at Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Tour, admire the natural beauty at Denver Botanic Gardens, and admire all the interesting features of Coors Field.

Traveling by car from Estes Park to Denver takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus. In July in Denver, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 60°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Mon) early enough to catcht the bus to Colorado Springs.

The Town of Buena Vista is a Statutory Town in Chaffee County, Colorado, United States.
