Lafayette is a city located along the Vermilion River in southwestern Louisiana. Do some cultural sightseeing at Laura: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site and Oak Alley Plantation. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Nottoway Plantation and St. Joseph Plantation. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lafayette: Mike the Tiger's Habitat (in Baton Rouge), Gator Chateau (in Jennings) and Jungle Gardens (in Avery Island). The Alamo City
As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.Popular historic sites such as The Alamo and Mission San Jose are in your itinerary. Do some cultural sightseeing at National Museum of the Pacific War and The Guenther House Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near San Antonio: The Y.O. Ranch (in Mountain Home), Fredericksburg (Distillery Tours & Fredericksburg Fudge) and Cibolo Nature Center (in Boerne). There's still lots to do: shop like a local with The San Antonio River Walk, explore the fascinating underground world of Natural Bridge Caverns, let little ones run wild at Brackenridge Park, and browse the different shops at Historic Market Square.

Live Music Capital of the World
Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.Get a sense of the local culture at Texas State Capitol and South Congress Avenue. Popular historic sites such as The Driskill and Sitagu Buddha Vihara are in your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Austin side-trips: Hamilton Pool Preserve (in Dripping Springs), Carleen Bright Arboretum (in Woodway) and Magnolia Market Silos (in Waco). Getting from San Antonio to Austin by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. February in Austin sees daily highs of 68°F and lows of 47°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
