Writer Pearl Buck once called New York City “a place apart,” and this giant urban center remains unlike any other in the world.
Do your shopping at Chelsea Market and Jersey Shore Premium Outlets. Let the collections at 9/11 Memorial and The Metropolitan Museum of Art capture your imagination. Get out of town with these interesting New York City side-trips: Bushkill Falls (in Bushkill), Grounds For Sculpture (in Hamilton) and Gateways to Newark: Portraits (in Newark). Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at New York Public Library, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Patrick's Cathedral, explore the world behind art at Frick Collection, and race across the water with a speed boat tour.

If you are flying in from Ghana, the closest major airports are La Guardia Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport and John F Kennedy International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 35°C in July, and nighttime lows around 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Fri) so you can drive to Hyde Park.
