For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
Step out of the city life by going to Caracas Beach and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. Discover out-of-the-way places like Sun Bay Beach and Secret Beach. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at La Chiva, delve into the distant past at El Hombre de Puerto Ferro, take in the waterfront at Malecon, and get great views at Puerto Ferro Lighthouse.

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Fri): explore the world behind art at Museo de Arte de Aguadilla y del Caribe, stroll through Crashboat Beach, then stroll through Sandy Beach, and finally stroll through Domes Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, stop by Ocean State of Mind, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Buye Beach.
