As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas has been added to your itinerary. On the 8th (Sun), take an in-depth tour of The Alamo, get engrossed in the history at Battle For Texas: The Experience, and then get in on the family fun at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Here are some ideas for day two: do a tasting at Sister Creek Vineyards, explore the activities along Landa Park, and then get a taste of the local shopping with The San Antonio River Walk.

To find photos, other places to visit, traveler tips, and tourist information, you can read our San Antonio road trip planning website .

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Crystal Beach, Kemah Boardwalk, Cockrell Butterfly Center, and other attractions you added. Head to Houston Premium Outlets and Katy Millsfor some retail therapy. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Blue Bell Creameries and Copper Shade Tree. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Houston: The Woodlands (The Woodlands Children's Museum & Market Street The Woodlands), Splashway Waterpark (in Sheridan) and Old Town Spring (in Spring). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 16th (Mon) at Typhoon Texas. The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at Surfside Beach, look for gifts at Potter Country Store, see the interesting displays at Space Center Houston, and explore and take pictures at Minute Maid Park.

Expect a daytime high around 95°F in July, and nighttime lows around 77°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
