The quaint city of Healdsburg is one of northern California's wine capitals, serving as the meeting point for three of Sonoma's most important wine-producing regions.

Change things up with these side-trips from Healdsburg: Sonoma Coast State Beach (in Sonoma) and Fort Ross State Historic Park (in Jenner). Getting from Carmel to Healdsburg by car takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of shuttle and flight; or take a bus. While traveling from Carmel, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Healdsburg, ranging from highs of 33°C to lows of 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Tue) early enough to drive to Napa.
