Shop till you drop at Chelsea Market and Sahadi's Specialty and Fine Foods. Step off the beaten path and head to Sam's Point Preserve and Holtsville Ecology Site. You'll find plenty of places to visit near New York City: Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center (in Stroudsburg), Cornelia & Florence Bridge Nature Preserve (in Milford) and Shawangunk Grasslands National Wildlife Refuge (in Wallkill).
