Divided into neighborhoods with distinct characters and cultural heritages, San Diego sits just north of the Mexican border and offers visitors a blend of tourist attractions, including a lively nightlife, diverse cuisine, and a thriving musical scene.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Thu): take in the waterfront at Embarcadero. On your second day here, explore the different monuments and memorials at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery, then view the masterpieces at Spanish Village Art Center, and then meet the residents at San Diego Zoo.

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Mon): tour the pleasant surroundings at Alki Beach, take a stroll through Pike Place Market, then identify plant and animal life at Mercer Slough Nature Park, and finally take in the waterfront at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. On the next day, examine the collection at The Museum of Flight, then take a stroll through Pioneer Square, and then get to know the fascinating history of Foster Island Walk.

Traveling by flight from San Francisco to Seattle takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of subway and flight; or drive.
