A genuine cowboy city, Cody is famous for its nightly rodeos and its proximity to the protected wilderness areas of the world's first national park, now designated as one of the country's World Heritage Sites.
On the 1st (Sat), see the interesting displays at Buffalo Bill Center of the West and then delve into the lush surroundings at Shoshone National Forest. Keep things going the next day: explore the world behind art at Whitney Gallery, then see the interesting displays at Cody Firearms Museum, then see human ingenuity at work at Buffalo Bill Dam, and finally contemplate the long history of Old Trail Town.

Cincinnati to Cody is an approximately 7.5-hour combination of bus and flight. You can also do a combination of bus, flight, and car; or drive. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Mountain Standard Time (MST), which is usually a -2 hour difference. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Alta: Oxbow Bend (in Moran) and Jackson (National Museum of Wildlife Art & Town Square).
